In-Store Shopping

The campus bookstore is open for in-person shopping. We have course materials, supplies, Orca gear and merchandise. Mask protection is optional. See store hours.

Online Shopping

You can order textbooks and course materials on the bookstore website (bookstore.whatcom.edu). Merchandise, Quick Study bar charts, art and other supplies are also available. We have options for pickup or shipping.


*Ordering is heaviest on the days just before and after the start of the quarter. In-store shopping may be your quickest option on those days. Order early for fastest service!

WEB ORDER DETAILS

  1. Web orders will be processed as staffing permits. Orders are normally processed in one to two business days. (*See note above)

  2. You will be emailed once your order is ready or contacted if there are any issues with your order. Orders are shipped via FedEx. They will not ship to PO Boxes. Please use a street address and contact FedEx directly for estimated shipping times. Normally, shipping to Bellingham addresses takes one business day.

  3. Orders not picked up by the third week of the quarter will be shipped to the address given with the order. No returns or refunds will be given after this time. All returns must be processed by the second week of the quarter.

  4. When you pick up your materials you will be asked to show your student ID or state issued photo ID.

Pickup Directions

Pickup will be available at the Campus Store during store hours.

The store is located in the northwest corner of the Syre Student Center. Syre is a large brick building behind the Laidlaw Center, between the Orange and Yellow parking lots.

You can drive to campus and enter the SW "Yellow" parking lot, either from the Cordata Parkway/Orca Lane entrance, or directly from Eliza Ave. The Yellow lot is behind the Laidlaw Center, adjacent to the Syre Student Center.


You can come directly to the store for pickup, masks are optional. The entrance to the store is in the courtyard, at the front NW corner of the Syre Student Center (just behind the Laidlaw Center).


Normal store hours are 9am-4pm Monday through Friday, but please see the bookstore website for current hour updates: http://bookstore.whatcom.edu/StoreHours. The college is closed on major holidays and for certain in-service days.



If you would like curbside service, you can park behind the store. Our back entrance has two brown doors and is located on the west side of Syre. There is also a stairway and small shelter close by.


If there is no one assisting cars, please call us at 360-383-3435. If we don't answer, please call back, or come to the door. We may be on the phone with another student. A bookstore employee will bring the order directly to your car and check your ID.

Book Buybacks

Students have an opportunity to sell back select textbooks at the Campus Store. Dates and times for buy back will be posted on our hours page. Bring your Orca card or other picture ID and know your student ID number. If you sell rental books instead of returning them, you will be charged later for the materials.


A book vendor will be on hand to determine pricing and which books can be sold. Though the college purchases all we can from students, purchase is based on demand and is never guaranteed. You can email us your book's ISBN number in the days before buy back. If we have any information about which books may be salable, we will share that with you.


  • Bring your books to the WCC Campus bookstore in the Syre Student Center during scheduled buy back times. You must also bring picture ID and your Student ID Number. Be careful not to sell back any rental books, or you will be charged later for the materials!

  • You can bring your books to the buyback agent. (Masks are required in the store.)

  • If you need curbside service, you can park behind the store near our two brown doors and call us at 360-383-3435 from your car. A campus employee will check your picture ID and your take your student number. They will bring your book(s) in to be evaluated. (If you have trouble getting through, please call us back, or come to the door. We may be on the phone with another student.)

  • Books are sold for cash. The college purchases whenever possible. A lower industry price may be offered by outside vendors if the college cannot buy the book(s).

Rental Returns

Textbook rentals are due on, or before, the last day of the quarter by 4:00 pm.*


  • Rentals can be returned during store hours to the bookstore cashier. Be sure you return the book(s). We will give you a return receipt. You will be charged full price for the rental if you sell items instead of returning them.

We will take your books and Student ID inside, then bring you a return receipt. If you have trouble reaching us, please call back, or come to the door. We may be on the phone with another student.


  • Rentals can also be returned to the new library drop box. The drop box is located to the left of the front entrance to the Phyllis & Charles Self Learning Commons. Be sure to include this information with the book(s):
    1. Student’s full name
    2. Student ID number
    3. Phone or email where we can contact you
    4. Name(s) of the book(s)

  • Rental returns may also be mailed to the bookstore. All mailed rental returns must be received at the bookstore by the Monday following the last day of the quarter. Our address is 235 W. Kellogg Road, Bellingham, WA 98226. You must include the student’s full name, student ID number, and a phone or email where we can contact you, along with the name(s) of the book(s).

*Rentals not returned by the due date will be auto charged to the renter’s credit card for the full value of the book(s).
